If you’re reading this, you’re either feeling desperate, hopeless, physically weak, mentally drained, or you feel like giving up. If so, you may have a form of auto-immune diseases like Crohn’s, IBD, Ulcerative colitis, Rheumatoid arthritis or one of the many, many others.
Don’t Give Up
That is where I was. I felt all of that and to top it off my GI specialist said I was developing cancer cells. Looking back, the only days that were half decent was when I was taking Prednisone, a very strong multi-purpose steroid. Besides the red balloon face and insatiable hunger, while taking Prednisone, I could still do anything and felt great. However, after 8 years of still having to take it along with all the other slew of drugs, my body was now dependent on Prednisone. It was literally in my bone marrow. For those of you that don’t know, on dosages higher than 4-5mg, it will replace the function of your adrenal glands completely and cause them to go dormant. Many times the adrenal glands never produce like they did before and for some, never work again.
Through 8 1/2 years, I experienced 20 + meds and mixed and matched them like clothes during that time. I took three different types of enemas, was told I could no longer exercise because it would cause the colon too much stress, took synthetic adrenaline to restore adrenal function, fluctuated in my weight by 35-40 pounds (200 down to 160) and on and on.
Many of you are just nodding your head in agreement because you’ve experienced the same thing or worse. Doctors and specialist are doom and gloom with autoimmune related illness too. They always said, “There is no cure for Crohn’s”, “Changing the way you eat will not cure you”, “sugar is not a problem”, “gluten is only a problem for those with Celiac”.
There is Hope
So here is hope for the hopeless my lost brothers and sisters. You can and will beat this disease. It’s both preventable and curable. I can say this because I’ve experienced it and continue to live it each and every day. It’s not an easy road but it’s worth it for your quality of life and your family.
Are you ready to change your life?
I’m going to give you the step by step protocol for curing this disease once and for all and to help others do it. Since God created each of us uniquely there could be some steps that will be harder for you than others. 6 months to a year is the typical time frame for remission. As a result of this protocol, you’ll be able to throw those medications away forever!
Steps to Get Into Remission
NOTE: This is not for the weak. It takes full commitment. Also, I am not a doctor so if you plan on doing this protocol please at least notify your doc that you’ll be doing so.

Remove Gut Offending Foods
Identify what foods, drinks and substances cause your particular flare ups. This will require a food diary. I created one for you. Download it here.
There are certain foods that should be removed no matter who you are.
- All juices (except fresh vegetable juices)
- All sodas
- All energy drinks and shots
- Flavored drinks
- Coffee – At least for 6-8 months
- Tea – At least for 6-8 months
- Anything else with added sugar
You’re pretty much going to drink water, almond milk, fresh vegetable juices, homemade smoothies and lemon water with fresh squeezed lemon instead. Trust me, you won’t miss any of these after two weeks.
2. Wheat and Gluten
Next on the list of mandatory removal is wheat based products containing gluten. Yes, even if you’re not Celiac or gluten intolerant. Wheat products break down into sugar immediately and are wreaking havoc on your digestive system, not to mention your brain. Dr. Perlmutter, author of Grain Brain provides a very good list for you here. Foods That Contain Gluten
3. Conventional Meats and Dairy
Stop buying regular beef and cows milk from the local grocery store. Read why it’s causing permeability in your gut here in What Causes Leaky Gut?
This one should really happen at the same time as removing foods. To understand why read What Causes Leaky Gut?
I can’t “stress” this one enough, pun intended. Chronic stress can literally damage your system and alter the chemistry. More details in What Causes Leaky Gut? and also in 10 Ways to Manage Stress. This one may even mean you have to change jobs. I understand for some of you that is not an immediate option but more like a 1 or 2-year plan.
The gut actually makes 90% of the neurotransmitters in your body. A part of working with a neurotransmitter deficiency is making sure that the digestive tract is functioning properly. Enzymes and probiotic foods such as homemade Bone Broth are the places to start. Any kind of inflammation in the digestive tract, which is common with a permeable or leaky gut, will compromise gut function.
Heal Your Leaky Gut
The final phase to remission is to heal that leaky gut of yours. I’ve laid out an entire plan packed with information and details for you in my article How to Heal Leaky Gut Syndrome.
Last But Definitely Not Least
From experience, this will take more than “you” to accomplish this. You’re going to need a good solid support system surrounding you. Tell your family what you’re doing, get them on board and hopefully get them eating like you. Chances are they need it also!
Ask the Lord for healing and grace. Trust me, you’re going to want His support!
