Homemade Almond Butter

almond-butter

Recently I decided to try my hand at making some homemade almond butter. I was tired of spending an arm and a leg for a little jar of organic almond butter. So, now i’m making it myself and I’m wondering why I didn’t do it to start with! Not only is it cheaper, it tastes incredible and smells amazing!

While toasting the almonds in this recipe, the smell overtook the entire house and drew a crowd to the oven. It truly smelled amazing!

Why should you start eating almond butter? Almonds contain fat, healthy fats that are beneficial when it comes to losing weight, despite their calorie intake. Eating almonds as a snack reduces your hunger and desire to eat later in the day. If trying to lose weight, you’ll notice your calorie intake decrease as long as almonds are a part of your food plan.

I typically don’t eat them raw and prefer to use the nut butter form. Use it in smoothies, protein bars and almond butter brownies just to name a few.

Don’t take my word for it. Try it yourself!

Recipe Notes

***Use organic ingredients if possible***

I don't recommend roasting the almonds because it can cause them to go rancid.
