Cancer is ranked third for overall deaths worldwide and second behind heart disease. In 2013 alone, cancer took the lives of over 591,000 in the United States.
According to the American Cancer Society, only 5-10% of all cancers are from inherited genes.  If we go by scientific numbers alone, we can sufficiently say that 90-95% of all cancers are not genetic but are developed or triggered, woken up. Studies show that 30-40% of cancers can be prevented with lifestyle alone. 
Using Lifestyle Choices to Prevent Cancer and Reverse Cancer
Inflammation is the beginning of disease. Environmental and conventional toxins are the cause of that inflammation. Healing your body is within your control. Integrating choices such as juicing, probiotic foods, removing toxic stress and anti-cancer foods will prevent cancer. Prayer was and is such a crucial part of my life that I must include it here. I must boast in the truly miraculous healing Christ has done in me. I believe the same is available for you also!
There’s really only two ways, in my opinion, to make these lifestyle changes and for many, it’s not easy at first. One, go cold turkey and cut out all the toxicity in your life. Two, take baby steps and drop one to two toxic areas every two to four weeks. I can hear your mind through the screen saying, “Great, but how do I do this?” To be frank, it depends on how serious you are. It takes a plan of attack, intensity, and a laser focus. Don’t give in to the daily temptations of life.

You Gotta Eat It To Beat It
There’s a common misnomer about cancer that tries to convince the masses that cancer is a death sentence. Big Pharma invests billions into medications that never work (literally) and only increase the speed at which cancer circulating cells replicate. The truth is that it’s just the opposite.
Many have reversed cancer using natural treatments from their home. A natural treatment, such as what I did and continue to do as part of my lifestyle, consists of vegetable juicing, probiotic foods, supplements that boost the immune system, anti-stress techniques such as prayer, exercise, and anti-angiogenic fruits and veggies.
What you’re looking to do is lower inflammation and fight free radicals. Free radicals are cells that have gone rogue or turned bad. By eating organic berry’s such as raspberries and blackberries you’re giving the body the ammo it needs to target and fight off those bad cells. If those free radicals are left untamed, they will eventually mutate and start to replicate. So it’s very important to incorporate those foods. Many of these foods are also called anti-angiogenic, meaning that they target and sever the very lifelines of cancer cells, therefore killing the bad cells. Angiogenesis (the growth of blood vessels that feed a tumor) is a whole other topic. I believe it helps to understand how these foods work in order for them to work for you. If you don’t understand how and why you probably won’t ever believe they work at all.

Top Cancer Fighting Foods
Let’s get right to it, after all, that’s why you’re here. This is not a complete list by any means but meant to get you started.
1. Dark Leafy Green Vegetables
Bursting with carotenoids, chlorophyll, folate and fiber, these compounds contained in dark leafy greens slow the growth of some forms of cancer. They are essential to lower your risk of cancer, especially colorectal cancer. Be careful, though! According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), leafy greens contain one of the highest pesticide loads even after they are washed. Consult the EWG’s Dirty Dozen for more information on this matter. Play it safe, buy organic. Juicing is my favorite way to consume green veggies and is the fastest way to absorb these benefits.
2. Cruciferous Vegetables
These power packed veggies are high in vitamin C and contain glutathione, making them one of the most effective cancer-fighting foods. Cruciferous veggies also protect your DNA’s structure via strong antioxidants and detoxifying enzymes.
In the Bible, Daniel lived his entire life eating a vegetarian diet which included cruciferous vegetables. Did he know something that others didn’t? According to the National Cancer Institute, they can help prevent cancer because they are rich in glucosinolates, which slow down and even reverse cancer cell growth. 
Berries have some of the highest antioxidant levels in the world. The ORAC score of almost all berries is off the charts high. Research shows that, not only do they contain strong antioxidant properties for preventing cell damage, which precedes cancer, they also aid in reducing inflammation and the growth of cancer.
The good news is many types of berries are easily available to find and include in recipes. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blackberries, goji berries, etc. are the top berries to consume. Eat at least 4-5 servings per week.
4. Herbs and Spices
Turmeric is widely known to be one of, if not the most effective cancer-fighting herb in the world. Turmeric contains the active ingredient called curcumin, known for decreasing the size of tumors. Make sure and add black pepper to anything you add turmeric too. It will increase your absorption by about 2000%. I love using these spices!
Don’t discredit the other herbs and spices out there, though. Oregano, garlic, black pepper, cayenne pepper are the other top herbs and spices. Garlic is right up there with turmeric for its cancer-fighting ability. Studies around the world have shown it to many cancers but especially colon, intestinal, prostate and stomach cancer. The World Health Organization recommends one whole clove per day!
Remember this, The more bitter and the hotter it is, the better.
5. Bright Orange Fruits and Vegetables
High in phytochemicals, which also give them their bright colors, are also high in vitamin A, C, and carotenoids, a type of vitamin A found in berries, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, citrus fruits and other plant foods.
Skin, eye, and different organ cancers are specifically targeted due to the abundance of antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and phytochemicals, particularly beta-carotene.
Homemade sweet potatoes, pumpkin soup, smoothies are just a few ways I enjoy these awesome plant foods.
6. Budwig Protocol
A diet created by Dr. Joanna Budwig which combined cultured dairy like cottage cheese or kefir, flaxseed oil and sprouted flaxseed or chia seeds. Its primary benefit is cellular healing, the main issue with cancer. Read more about the healing benefits of this food at The Budwig Center website.
7. Essential Oils for Cancer
Essential oils have been around for thousands of years. They’re known for their powerful properties which have been used for medicinal and many health purposes. These oils contain anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties to name a few. When oils are joined their effect is increased. Essential oils are natural treatments for cancer.
A word of caution, though. Please do not buy oils from a store. Most store-bought oils contain harmful chemicals, they’re extracted from genetically modified plants and contain formaldehyde. What you should look for a certified Organic, 100% therapeutic and pure oil.
- Frankincense – Proven to fight cancer and reduce tumors, even in the brain. Frankincense can pass through the cells and even the blood-brain barrier, which is something chemotherapy drugs cannot do! I use it daily and you should too. Take it orally 3-5 drops 3x daily, or rub on topically on the brain stem.
